Twilight Fair set to be a fun evening out for the whole family!

17 Oct 2018

TwilightFair01

There will something for everyone at this year’s Chisholm Catholic Primary School Twilight Fair, including amusement rides, market stalls, food and more.

This is the first time the school’s Spring Fair has been run in the evening, and the organisers from the Chisholm Community Group are adding an array of exciting attractions including a liquid gel dance floor and silent disco.

There will be glow-in-the-dark items for sale including nail polish, flashy wands, glow sticks and fairy floss (that’s right - glowy fairy floss!), as well as a haunted house designed by the senior students and staff.

For those in the mood for a spot of shopping, there will be a White Elephant stall, as well as plants for sale and stalls with local fruits and vegetables.

There will also be an array of show bags, a chocolate wheel with prizes, and a variety of international food along with a cake stall, and coffee from the Ugly Mug coffee van.

Local dance groups will be performing during the evening, and local karate and jujitsu crews will be providing demonstrations.

Amusement rides-fanatics can purchase a $30 unlimited rides wristband before the event or at the Fair.

The Chisholm Catholic Primary School Twilight Fair will take place on Saturday, October 14, from 3:30pm to 8:30pm on the school grounds located at 30 Collith Avenue, Bligh Park.

Parking and entry are free, and there will be EFTPOS available on-site.

Six Habits That Help Children Develop a Love of Reading

Book Week is a celebration of stories, imagination and creativity, but helping children love reading isn't just something that happens during one week of the year. The good news? It doesn't take expensive resources or hours of extra time. Often, it's the small, everyday habits that make the biggest difference.

Throughout Laudato Si’ Week, our students had wonderful opportunities to reflect on how we can care for our home and care for one another. Across the week, students took part in a range of creative and reflective activities, deepening their understanding of the needs of others and exploring how their choices and actions can make a difference. They also generously collected toiletry items to support the Vinnies - Vinnies Van. It was a meaningful week of learning, reflection, compassion and action, reminding our students that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference. #LaudatoSiWeek #FaithInAction #chisholmcatholicprimary #VinniesVan

🇦🇺What an incredible adventure for our Year 4 students! Today, Year 4 stepped back in time with an unforgettable excursion to Kamay National Park (Botany Bay). Our young historians had a fantastic time bringing their classroom learning to life: 🗺️ Exploring the rich history and deep Indigenous heritage of the local Gweagal people. ⚓ Walking the historic shores where two worlds first met in 1770. 🔭 Discovering fascinating stories about the arrival of the First Fleet and early colonial history.

Celebrating the Feast of St Mary MacKillop Today our school community celebrated the Feast of St Mary MacKillop through beautiful readings, prayer and reflective liturgical movement. We reflected on Mary’s life of faith, courage, kindness and service, and her inspiring reminder to “never see a need without doing something about it.” 🙏 #chisholmcatholicprimary #chisholmcommunity
